Amazing what some people think!!!

I have to say that one of the allures of freelancing in PR is that you never cease to be amazed by what some people think Public Relations is all about. One guy who posted online wanted a PR person to help him push something, he wouldn't say what, that was pushing the limit and may actually end up being illegal. He wanted someone with no morals or ethics and who would not let these "details" get in the way.

Now first and foremost, this is NOT by any measure Public Relations. We are a field with a strong sense of ethics and actually have spelled it all out. Are there unethical PR people out there? Of course there are, just like there are unethical doctors, lawyers and accountants. But to go out and actively solicit people to do unethical work is unimaginable to me and shows just how ignorant some people are about what PR is designed to do.

While my blood is up I have to comment about the shooting at the Holocaust Museum yesterday. I did hear this on the news last night, and have to say it sums up my feelings exactly, how could someone who fought to defeat the ideal of fascism and the evil it stood for, turn around and become exactly what they stood against? My feelings go out to the family of that brave man who stopped this evil person from harming more innocent people and I am happy that A) He was stopped before he did a great deal more damage and B) For once, once of these losers is captured alive and can, hopefully, stand trial for their actions. The Holocaust is a fact people there is no denying it and anyone who judges people by the group, the color of their skin, their religion or any falsehood is wrong and should be called out for that!

On more pleasant news, I was glad to see that the Red Sox have now beaten the Yankees in 8 straight games! Tim Wakefield is pitching very good again and once again with Julio Lugo on the bench the Sox are winning a heck of a lot more than they are losing. Jason Bay is proving that Manny is a total loser and not fit to wear a Red Sox uniform. I am sure that Dodger fans wish they never heard of him!

Well there are many stories in the naked city and those are my views on a few of them. Only one more day to go until the weekend and heaven forbid, sunny weather!
